At air cadets, sports are a key part of what we do. There are 7 core sports that cadets can compete in: athletics, cross country, football (5-a-side and 11-a-side), hockey, netball, rugby and swimming. Some of these sports are for the whole squadron to get involved in, whereas the other sports require cadets to go through trials and are selected to represent the team.

We always aim to enter a full team into each category for every sporting event. Prior to the competitions, we devote a few parade nights to training, whether it be football, athletics or cross country. Our commitment to our sports have paid off as the squadron has been recognised as the best squadron in Surrey Wing for sports; a great achievement.

Throughout the year our cadets will have the chance to show off and prove themselves in their chosen sports. Those cadets who show a natural talent while representing the squadron may be selected to represent Surrey Wing, and even better still be asked to represent London and South East Region. For those cadets who see the sky as the limit, there is also potential to represent a national team in one of our many sporting events.
